The Story of the First Island Son -

The Oldest child of the islands first settlers was Daniel Vroman. No doctor was on the island when Daniel’s mother Amelia was ready to give birth that winter of 1848, so Daniel’s father Phillip donned ice skates to pull Daniel’s mother to Sandusky inside a fish shanty. Daniel was the first son of the island. As an adult Daniel built this house in 1885.

Located near the Village, First Island Son is a small Victorian B&B. We enjoy giving our guests the special attention they seek away from a busy mainland life.
